Report

Quite a nice wet overcast day in Singapore for our game against Aioli. No one could complain about the heat for once! Rangers started very poorly and just didn’t seem up for the fight against a very strong opposition. It wasn’t long before probing runs from their players leading to a cross from the right for Addy to score a header past Tuomas. Great header to be fair but not great from us. We just didn’t didn’t get going in the first half and were punished again when Addy was again left free in the box to slot home and make it a deserved 2-0. Ryoga hit the post on a counter attack which was our best chance in the first half. The second half started better with more tempo and organisation. Both teams looking fairly even at this stage but Aioli still looking threatening on the break. It wasn’t until roughly ten minutes to go when Danny made some yards out wide and fizzed a cross in that could only be turned in by the defender. Game on. Rangers kept puffing but with Aioli defending well it made it difficult to break through. Then a carbon copy cross from Danny just needed to be touched in by any Tom, Dick and Harry but managed to stay out. A few minutes later another counter attack led to Tuomas making a good save but landing straight at their sub who slotted home for a 3-1 win. Overall Aioli deserved the win and we did not play well enough. Congrats to them but we dust ourselves down and go again against the Swiss.

Victory

After 2 close games with rangers last year where we couldn't get a victory we decided to change the tactics today and try something different. It worked out well giving us our biggest victory of the season. First half was as good as we have played this season, mixing up the passing game with some direct play. 2 first half goals by addy got us a lead and we didn't look back. The first was a good cross from Jeff who found Mark on the penalty spot, a confident header just beat the keeper and gave us a deserved lead. on 35 mins direct from a kick out, Joel flicked on for mark who finished with a lob to make it 2-0. Just before HT a flowing move saw harry in on the keeper but he made a great save. Rangers were getting called off side a lot and Danielle was doing a great job attacking their dangerous crosses.2-0HT Second half and Rangers were committing more men forward which made for an end to end game. We were able to introduce some substitutes to keep the intensity up and we continued to create chances. JJ was close on a few occasions but it was rangers who got 1 back when a dangerous cross was turned in by the monkeys, 2-1 with 10 mins left. Luckily for us JJ took on the a few rangers players and got 1 on 1 with the keeper who again made a great save. Salem followed up well and made it 3-1. We held on for a big victory which puts us in a much better position in the table, 1 game left before xmas. MOM for Rangers the centre back. For us it went to Danielle. Cheers to rangers, looking forward to the next one.
