Friday Night and the unfamiliar slot of 7pm saw 1TM take on Vikings. Over the years this fixture has been a full blooded contest so we knew we needed to be up for the contest. 1TM settled quickly and created some good openings as we moved the ball with purpose. Vikings were defending well and so it took a moment of magic from Tinks on 16 minutes. The midfielder produced a great bit of skill to cut through the defensive line and coolly slotted past the goalkeeper to open the scoring. 1-0 Credit to Vikings who continued to fight hard to get back in the match and took full advantage of some sloppy play from 1TM to gain momentum. They created a couple of decent chances themselves and finally got an equaliser when Mele played a lofted ball over our defence and Joe managed to stay onside and finished well. 1-1. From there, it was a scrappy affair as both sets of players battled to try and create further goal opportunities but nothing tested either keeper. HT 1-1 The second half didn’t get off to an ideal start when Mele struck from outside the box which wasn’t dealt with by POB. The veteran knows he should have done better but there was still plenty of time for 1TM to turn it around. 2-1 Vikings defended well and Mele was a menace up front chasing every lost cause. 1TM finally began playing and we created a host of chances which a combination of excellent goalkeeping and bad luck meant that we couldn’t convert. On another day, it might have been different. On 85 minutes, we won a free kick on the edge of the box and Tinks took advantage of the Vikings players surrounding the ref by playing it quickly to Sharples. 1 on 1 with the keeper and the striker made no mistake. 2-2. FT 2-2 Well played to Vikings for another great battle. Huge thanks to the refs for their part in managing the game. Thanks to Flat White Snr (Wild Boar) for coming down to support. Ii was a competitive very equal game where 1TM took the lead with a great goal after 20 minutes play and tough 1TM pressure on Vikings. As a response of the goal, we took more initiative and pushed the pressure up higher on the field and it immediately paid off with some big chances and a solid goal by Joe Wright. Melli scored a great goal after the half and Vikings was looking to take the win with some big chances hence failed to seal the game. 1TM scored a late goal on quick free kick. Thank you for the game and best of luck for the rest of the season to 1TM
