The spoils are shared again for the return fixture against TGA with a 3-3 scoreline, having recorded a 4-4 earlier on in the season. Latini roll out a pretty decent squad considering the recent struggles with injuries an suspensions. Everyone turned up with a great attitude and prepared to make a mends after last weeks disappointing result against the French. From the start the lads in red and white struggled to keep possession and play from the back, being pressed by the TGA forwards. To give the defense a break, POB resorted to some longer kicks. Latini got some joy from this 10 minutes in with a good flick on from Pet Shop, followed up with a nudge on from Roycey, putting Duplo through on goal for his first chance of the game. He finished emphatically with a well placed shot in the bottom corner. 1-0. The remainder of the half continued in this fashion with Latini having to do a lot of defending and trying to work counter attacks. TGA got rewarded for their efforts though with a goal just before half time. A good first save from POB, but unable to get behind the follow-up. 1-1. The second half started with Latini conceding a couple of soft goals through not clearing their lines effectively. A shame after some decent, dogged defending in the first half. However, Latini were also gifted a soft goal of their own on 75 minutes when Pet Shop delivered a near post corner into the TGA box, what looked like a routine claim from the keeper somehow resulted in the ball being spilled into the back of the net. 2-3. Game on. Latini began to play with a bit more urgency and on the 85th minute, after some good work from RB Nedley, managed to win a free kick just inside the opposition half. Devonshire dispatched an accurate lofted pass into the box for Duplo to get on the end of and put past the keeper to make it 3-3. A good game in all and happy with the comeback. Thanks TGA, and good luck with the rest of the season. MOM for Latini - Duplo - Two good goals MOM for TGA - Neil - Started all their attacks from the back pretty much DOTD - Duplo - For ballooning a free-kick in a good position high, wide and anything but handsome
We dominated most of the game but a lack of concentration along with poor judgement and communication at both ends of the field cost us the win. Duplo took his chances well but we should have defended far better for all 3 goals conceded. Going forward we missed far too many chances and rushed things in the final third when we didn't need to. Latini battled hard to snatch the draw but we could only feel disappointed to somehow come away from Centaurs with only one point. Good luck for the reason of the season lads.
