Tough loss

Aioli Monkeys disappointingly threw away a 2-0 lead against the French on Saturday afternoon. The Monkeys found themselves 2 goals to the good early in the second half following good strikes from Joe and Javi but, after defending solidly for the first 60 mins, twice gave the ball away in dangerous areas and OGS clinically took advantage to make it 2-2. Both sides pushed for the winner late in the game and missed good chances. We were unfortunately forced to play the last 10 minutes with 10 men after an injury to young Pablo and should have been a bit smarter in how we approached the game after that, ultimately conceding in injury time with too many players committed up the pitch looking for a winner. A draw would've been a fair result but hopefully we learn from this and come back stronger next week. Thanks to the French for the game and for showing your concern for Pablo after the nasty looking injury.

A hard battle to wrap up 3 important points. OG went 2 goals behind despite creating the more chances and hitting the bar. But the team fought hard to equalize and then take the lead in the dying minutes. Thanks to PM for an competitive game played in a good spirit.
