After a decent performance in last week's Friday night encounter against Hibs, German were keen to show a strong performance against top 3 ranked Rangers. A strong and certainly well organised Rangers squad proofed to be too much to handle for the German side which was struggling to field their usual squad. Rangers kicked off strongly scoring two goals shortly after kick off. German's were able bounce back with a beautiful strike by Viktor. German's hope was crushes shortly after when Rangers scored to third goal in response. While Germans were certainly more competitive in the second half with a few counter attacks, Rangers had the game always under control and were able to score another three goals leveraging upon individual errors by the Germans. Thanks to the Rangers for a competitive and fair encounter.
Good game for Rangers. With Denis Law and Paul Lambert taking the touchline for Rangers, things were looking up. It was a tough decision for Oli to make, but as Chairman making his billions in Suisse, he does not want to see his investment following the same consequence as the Subprime market of '08. With that in mind, 'Bryer had to go'. With a heavy heart, Bryer departed. The dressing room revolution settled. People began focusing on the game and remembered why it is we turn up on the Friday nights other than for the Eski. (p.s the eski is MIA - whoever has it, please own up. Reward will be paid!) The result is one which Rangers are capable of delivering. Consistency had been the missing element. We turned up and it has to be said, it was not Germans strongest 11, so we were under no illusions. We started well, got ourselves in front and then the goal from the Germans was unbelievable. It was a 30 yard screamer that no keeper was saving. We picked ourselves up immediately after, got back in front and saw the game out. Beatts on his hat-trick was a sorry soul to be brought off, however, keeping him fresh for the big games ahead. Bryer sulking at his dismissal from Oli is now finding his feet in the Makalele role that he is destined for and young Fras Anderson is continuing to add goals to his game. Rangers need more of that from him, he has it in his locker and watch out for more of the same Shout out to Jordan who played through illness in a more central focused role. Delivered well and got himself on the score sheet. Paddy too, so we have the goals and Rangers are looking forward to the 2nd half of the season. The core is strong, game at a time and we will see how we do. Happy 2018 to all and thank you to the Germans for a good honest game! Cheers
