A solid 13 man squad was assembled to play hotspurs this week. we had two good games against hotspurs last season 1 win for each side. We were focussed on defending their aerial assault and learning some of the lessons from last years games. 10 minutes in and we had surely forgotten all that was said, a long throw flicked on to ali and he finished well. 0-1. We regrouped, grabbed hold of possession and played plenty of football first half. Peter had a shot after coming in on his right well saved and some dangerous crosses defended well by hotspurs defence. 30 mins in and we scored our best goal this season, a great team goal with one touch passing to get the ball to zander who smashed in the volley. 1-1 at HT. Second half started very well, Kamel played the ball into ichi 30ms from goal, he managed to turn both defenders and raced clear to finish. We kept possession very well afterwards, restricting hotspurs attacks to long balls. All to play for at 60 mins and harry picked out addy at the back post, addy from an awkward ankle and with his fifty pence head floated the ball over the keeper and made it 3-1. Having been 3-1 up last year against hotspurs and managing to still lose the game we knew it wasn't over. Hotspurs rallied and went for 2 up top, a nice ball over the top put lionel in 1 v 1, danielle managed to stop him but the follow up was stuck in the top corner, game on 3-2 with 15 to play. El Gordo replaced peter in an attempt to tighten up, minutes later the fat man received the ball and played a first time lobbed pass for radish who finished well lobbing the onrushing GK. Hotspurs didn't waist time taking advantage of power outage at the back to make it 4-3 and make for an interesting last few minutes. We held on for 2 wins in a row, hopefully the start of a successful run. Thanks to hotspurs for a sporting game, MOM lionel MOM for us was zander with an all action performance topped off with a great goal.
