Bounce back

Finally, after 3 average performance OG managed to beat a solid TGA team. OG displayed a much improved team spirit thanks to the return of Coach Simon. Game was even for a majority of the time with both team creating little chances. OG opened the score line early in the game thanks to a TGA mistake from the goalie allowing an easy tap in for us. Rangers came back 15min later via a beautiful header into the top corner. 1-1HT Second half was more or less the same story. TGA dominated a bit more but we punished them on their mistake. Our second goal was an individual performance from Benji who after dribbling 2 or 3 players managed to find the opposite side of the net with a nice curved shoot. Our third goal was a poor clearance, Benji again managed to recover the ball and convert it. From there it was 20min of TGA crossed, corner, free kick. Again from a poor clearance their got back to 3-2 but we hold onto the score line until the end to claim a good 3 points. MOM Benji: for the brace of goal MOM TGA: Nathan, great goal and performance

Report

The game against our old foes was always going to be a tasty one and it didn't disappoint the neutrals. In recent weeks Rangers seemed to have ground out the results without really putting teams away, usually shooting ourselves in the foot at the same time. Turns out this game was no different apart from the end result. Pre-game talk was about minimising mistakes and applying pressure going forwards, but we didn't fancy that idea so conceded one of the poorest goals of the season when a defensive header landed straight at the feet of an opponent to slot into an empty net with the keeper stranded. Tragic. Characteristically we struck back soon after when Nate's looping header from a cross evaded the french keeper. 1-1 at half time with a lot to improve in the second half. The French played the ball around nicely and were technically better than us on the day, Rangers had a couple of chances but a breakaway goal and then another poor defensive mistake was well punished to make it 3-1 with 20 or so to go. Paddy got us back into it with a smart volley after a corner wasn't cleared but we couldn't find that extra edge to equalise. 3-2 FT.
