After a win to start the year against GSAS, Gaulois got slaughtered by Latini, in a game that only lasted 20min. Despite the win last week, already defensive issues were visible with a team not defending all together and subject to mistakes. Against a stronger team like Latini, it does not forgive... It's a shame because on paper, Gaulois had a good team so there was hope a result could be obtained. After 5min and a first mistake, our hope was already gone... Gaulois equalized shortly after (1-1 10') on a header from Isiaka. Then "rideau" as we say in French. 1-5 HT. 2-12 FT. Well done Latini. Well done Sharples and the rest of the team. Back to (tough) reality for Gaulois.
After weeks of waiting for sunny conditions, 1TM finally took to the field with the blue skies, facing off against Olympique Gaulois. The French side started brightly, applying early pressure, but it was 1TM who struck first. A misjudged pass across the Olympique back line was intercepted by Sharples, who kept his composure to slot home a superb 1-v-1 finish. OG quickly hit back, equalizing through a well-executed free kick that was headed past POB. However, 1TM regrouped and began to seize control of the match. First-half goals came in thick and fast, with Ryu (2), Sharples, and Pig all finding the back of the net, giving 1TM a commanding lead heading into the break. The second half saw 1TM continue their dominance with clinical precision. Sharples stole the show, scoring an additional four goals to bring his tally to six for the match, while Tinks, Yuto San, and Duplo added to the scoreline. Olympique Gaulois, to their credit, kept fighting and managed to pull another goal back. They also had an opportunity to close the gap further with a penalty, but POB came up big with a fine save. *Man of the Match* deservedly goes to Sharples for an outstanding performance, contributing six goals and four assists to an emphatic 1TM victory. A huge thanks to Olympique Gaulois for their spirited play, the officials for overseeing the game, and the supporters club —Team Sharples, Racky, and Herm’s Dad—for coming down to watch. The team also bids farewell to Mo, who is returning to Germany. Auf Wiedersehen, Mo, and all the best!
