Report

Good start of 2025

After one month of Christmas break and the last game being cancelled because of the monsoon season in Singapore, Gaulois was eager to fight against GSAS that Saturday in the second Cup game. Gaulois managed to put a strong squad plus 4 subs to play in this perfect weather condition so everything was in place for Gaulois to do a good performance. Shortly after kickoff a good pressure from Anatole resulted in a mistake from the goalkeeper that JB intercepted and scored in the empty goal from 30m with his right foot. 1-0 5' Despite that good start of the game Gaulois is always fighting against themselves and unfortunately on a free kick well kicked by GSAS the ball got into the feet of one of them who nicely put the goal the ball into the frame. 1-1 15'. The next 20 minutes were more or less balanced. Gaulois was having the control of the ball and and GSAS was being dangerous in the counter attack. On one of them, GSAS scored on a bad defensive comeback from the Gaulois defense. 1-2 30'. After some subs from coach Enzo, Gaulois finally managed to play better and got some opportunities to come back but missed them. 1-2 HT. At HT, the message was clear from the Coach: "we do not have the right to lose today". So the team started to put the ball on the floor and to push to equalize first. The good entrance from Ivan on the right side managed to get us energy and a goal: on a good cross from him and a very nice header from Isiaka. 2-2 60'. Gaulois continued pushing and GSAS was struggling physically with only one sub. Yet, Gaulois was not able to score that goal that would put them up in the game and GSAS despite not having much the ball in the second-half could by moment be dangerous offensively. After a couple of misses, on the good pass from Clement to JB on the left side, JB nicely crossed the ball to Victor who just had to push the ball into the empty goal. 2-3 85'. 2-3 FT Big relief for Gaulois to earn these deserved three points that were crucial. Even if this is a Cup Game, these three points are very important for the morale of the team. Thanks to GSAS for the game. Next week tough game against Latini, Gaulois will need to be better than they were today and even more aggressive more intense.
