The start of the year saw us kick off in a Group Cup game against a very strong Latini team. With two wins under our belts from the first two group cup games, we knew a further 3 points would see us through. As expected, the first half was a cagey affair. SFC hitting the post early on after Keo did well to get free, but other than that SFC did not do enough to hurt Latini in the final third. At the half way mark SFC made some tactical changes, bringing on Soshi and Faz upfront. Despite playing most of our football in the opposition half, it was Latini that scored first. A miscued cross some how found the corner/side netting of the SFC goal. 1-0 to Latini. The next goal was also disappointing from an SFC standpoint, as Latini's striker was able to get a clear header away at a corner. 2-0 to Latini. Thereafter SFC finally cranked up the gears. Our academy pairing of Isak and Luke in midfield were working tirelessly, whilst Faz and Liam started to combine well upfront. Meanwhile Soshi's pace also started to tell and Latini's last man was eventually shown a yellow for pulling him back whilst he was through on goal. A few moments later Rocky went past the same defender and received the same treatment - although there was no second yellow forth coming. As the pressure built, a penalty was finally awarded after Faz was hauled down in the box. Liam S. stepped up but his shot came back out from the underside of the post. The scoreline remaining 2-0. With 5 minutes to go SFC finally got their goal as Faz pivoted first and got his shot off. 2-1 (to Latini) which is how it remained at the close. Thanks to all involved, for a well contested game. Great to get the match played in spite of all the heavy rain.

Despite the monsoon circling Singapore, the cup fixture between 1TM and SFC went ahead to kick off 2025. The first half saw an evenly contested game, with both 1TM and SFC showcasing their strengths on and off the ball. Chances were created at both ends, the most notable being SFC's shot that struck the foot of the post. Solid last-ditch defending by SFC denied 1TM some promising opportunities. In the second half, the introduction of Yuto San proved pivotal. His immediate impact came when he reached the byline, delivering a lofted cross that curled over the keeper and nestled into the far corner, giving 1TM a 1-0 lead. The advantage was doubled with 10 minutes to go when Dev's corner found Flat White, who manage to out jump his markers with a powerful header. 1TM continued to create chances, but SFC were handed a lifeline with awarded a penalty. However, the spot-kick rattled off the crossbar. SFC eventually pulled one back, with a well taken effort after a scramble at the back post to set up a tense final few minutes, but 1TM held firm to secure a hard-fought victory.
