BOUNCEBACK WEDNESDAY Keen to get back to winning ways, Tactical Tally assembled a strong squad as we welcomed back Ruby into the fold. It was an intense start, with the Vikings starting strongly, pressing aggressively and taking the lead midway through the first half when an inswinging free kick eluded POB and hit the back of the net. Despite the setback, 1TM grew into the game, creating chances but unable to equalize before halftime. In the second half, Sharples turned the game around with a quick brace. His first was a stunning solo effort smashed into the far corner, and his second came from Ryu's excellent work on the right, setting him up for a calm finish from eight yards out. We had a few more chances to score but in the end managed to see the game out and hold on to a well-earned 2-1 victory. After a couple of late dropouts, a patched up Viking squad started incredibly well against top of the table 1TM. Spending much of the first 15 minutes camped inside the opposition half. Tomas scoring a free kick which managed to evade everyone from range. 1-0 vikings. 1TM came back into the game as the half went on, but chances were few and far between for both sides for the remainder of the half. A sloppy start to the second half saw the Vikings go 2-1 down within the first 10 minutes. Some well worked goals from 1TM, which put Vikings on the back foot and then chasing the game. Both teams managed to create some chances which could’ve seen the game swing either way, but 1TM held out for a well battled win. Heads up to the lads, can’t fault the effort shown.
