Nippon took on Latini at Singapore American School on a Wednesday night. Given the defeat of the champion SFC in the recent games, Nippon was quite sure it will be a super tough one, so we started the game with strong focus. The first half was almost equal, both teams having a few opportunities to score, but the only goal was an own goal borne by a sharp delivery from the left side that forced a Nippon defender to bury the goal into the back net after 15min into the game. Nippon well controlled the game after that, but failed to score. The second half was more or less the same. The Japanese succeeded to get an equaliser from a quick counter attack after 10min. However, Mike showed great performance in the right side of the field, especially when he managed to get his goal winning a battle against two defenders. The rest of the game remained tight with no goals borne. We enjoyed the game and hope to win next time!! Thanks Latini and refs!
