In the opening match of the new Cosmo League season, the German Swiss Allstars (GSAS) faced off against Latini, last season's runners-up. Despite a solid first-half performance, where GSAS held Latini to a 0-2 lead and even created a few scoring chances, the second half saw Latini clearly dominate. GSAS struggled to keep up with the pace of their game ultimately leading to an 0-8 defeat. GSAS will have a chance to make up for the bad start into the season in their next game against Vikings on Friday night at GESS.
1TM kicked off their first game of 2024-2025 Cosmo season with a strong performance against German-Swiss All Stars. On a scorching morning at the German European School, Tactical Tally had the headache of a strong squad in place and handed league debuts to new signings Moritz and youth academy product, Ryu, who, alongside Conor and Herm, is another graduate from the famous 1TM Youth Academy. Both teams started with positive intent, creating a few half chances, but the breakthrough came in the 19th minute when last season's youth star, Boggy, saw his shot parried wide by the GSAS keeper, allowing Moritz to slot home for an easy tap-in. By the 31st minute, as the sun was replaced by torrential rain, 1TM doubled their lead as Flat White went into "Beast Mode," riding two challenges before calmly lifting the ball over the goalkeeper after a brilliant through ball from Panda. In the second half, Boggy and Sharples took center stage as both completed impressive hat tricks. Boggy’s two unstoppable strikes from distance that left the GSAS ‘keeper with no chance, were the pick of the bunch. Despite the score line, GSAS never gave up and deserve praise for their effort, particularly without the ball. Thanks to the officials for managing the game, the 1TM squad for all playing a part in the victory and Herm’s Dad for being the new lucky charm this season.
