Match Day 16 for 1TM and it was top of the table clash with SFC that would surely determine where the league title would go this year. 1TM were sloppy in the opening stages and SFC started brightly. Unfortunately, we gave a sloppy goal away on 17 minutes when a hopeful ball over the top managed to elude our defence and their striker finished well when 1v1. On 21 minutes, 1TM went 2 down when SFC broke and the ball was played across the 18 year box. Their player lofted a shot high and looped over POB’s dive. 2-0 On 41 minutes, the challenge of coming back into the match was made even harder when 1TM felt we should have had a foul on the edge of the SFC box but instead SFC regained possession and another lofted ball over the top. 1TM felt there was a strong case for offside but the linesman disagreed and the striker rounded POB to score. 1TMplayed much better in the second half and had most of the possession. Unfortunately, SFC were resolute in the defending and limited us to half chances. We finally got a goal back with the last kick of the game when Ruby managed to connect first to a corner and Doc was on hand to finish. 3-1 Not to be today and the league is now out of our hands. We’ll be back in action on Rudy’s against the Germans with the goal of finishing the season as strongly as possible. Thanks to the whole squad and gave changers in Taishi and Plan C-rouchy. Thanks to Team Sharples and Team Lego for supporting
Liam George opened the scoring after a mix-up at the back saw him clean through on goal, he then calmly placed the ball past the keeper. The second was a long-range looping effort from Joe Claridge that lobbed the Latini keeper. The third, just before halftime, saw Liam George once again clean through - this time finishing into an open net. The second half saw SFC sit deep, as Latini controlled possession. Clear-cut chances were limited for both sides but Latini scored a consolation with the last kick of the game.
