After a few weeks of break, on a very hot Saturday afternoon, Cosmo finally had another league game to play at the Singapore American School a against bottom half side International Lions. Cosmo went into this must win game with a very thin squad due to injuries and several absentees. International Lions dominated the first 20min of the game with lots of ball possession, which meant Cosmo spent a lot of energy chasing the ball. After a long play of possession, International Lions scored the opener. Cosmo was clearly not in the game, couldn’t get a hold of the ball, and once the ball was recovered, it was lost immediately with rushed and unprecise passing. At the first water break, Cosmo changed its formation a 4-4-2 to a 3-5-2, to add numbers in the midfield where it was clearly outplayed by International Lions in the first 20min of the game. Cosmo was now better in the game with more ball possession. Unfortunately after a quick counter attack, International Lions scored the 2nd goal. Cosmo responded immediately and Jens scored the 1:2 after a corner. From now on it was an open game and Cosmo had a great chance to score the equalizer that was cleared off the line by the oppositions goal keeper with a bit of luck and skill. Instead of 2:2, International Lions were awarded a penalty which made it 1:3 at half time. Cosmo went into the 2nd half trying to at least score the equalizer, International Lions scored the 4th goal a few minutes into the 2nd half which put this game to bed. After a nice combination between Felix and Mark, the later scored the 2:4. With only two substitute players, Cosmo ran out of energy in the 2nd half and conceded the 5th and 6th goal which ended a disappointing afternoon. For the upcoming game on Friday against Latini, the last of the campaign, Cosmo will have the chance to finish the season on a high note. Dick of the Day goes to Jens for his "Hand of God" goal...unfortunately on the wrong side, which led to the penalty and 1:3 Man of the Match to Quirin without whom in the back it probably would have been double digit Lions
