Another Friday Night Lights set the scene for 1TM’s final league game of the season. Our opponents were the French, who have given us some tough encounters over the years. Between holidays, work trips and injuries, we were without several key members of the squad but Tactical Tally managed to work some magic again to assemble a great squad that included debuts for Jad/ Jed and Jason/ Jack. The game was end to end in the opening exchanges and it was OG who took the lead first on 18 minutes when their midfielder hit a half volley on the spin that squeezed into the net. 1-0 1TM’s response was emphatic with great finishes from Boggy (set up by Sharples on 26 minutes), Sharples (set up by Caramba on 31 minutes) and Sherlock, who unleashed a great strike from just inside the box on 36 minutes. It was 3-1 going into half time when with almost the last kick of the half, OG got a goal back with a cheeky free kick from distance. 1TM started the half well and extended the lead on 56 minutes after great work from the boy wonder Boggy. 4-2. OG immediately managed to get a third with a well taken finish on 58 minutes. In the final 30 minutes, 1TM stepped up a gear with Gerbil scoring a brace (set up by Sharples on 61 minutes and then Boggy on 81 minutes) and then Boggy added to his first half strike (set up by Caramba on 84 minutes) and then completed his hat trick with the final kick of the game (set up by Jad) and wrapped up a fantastic man of the match performance. Final score 8-3. Huge thank you to OG for a great game and the officials for their part. Thank you Francois for doing such an excellent job with organising the fixtures and pitches.
