The days early fixture saw the two teams at the foot of the table go head to head in hope of securing the points to move them off the bottom of the league. In a closely fought contest Gaelic overcame Hotspurs 2-1, the deciding goal coming in the second half through veteran scorer Rick O'Shea - the ball must have deflected off at least 5 players on it's way into the net! Watching from the sideline it was apparant how much the game meant to both sets of players and supporters. Vikings followed the game on Pitch 1 in the 5pm showdown with GSAS and many of the players from the previous game hung around with beers to watch the encounter - true Cosmo Saturday afternoon/eve down at TC. Vikings ran out 4-1 victors with Melechovsky adding another hat trick in his quest to seal the golden boot - the second was pure class! GSAS had a small period of possesion in the second half where they threatened to get back into the game but this was not enough and Busser put pay to any hopes they had by securing the 4th. SFC had to come from behind to share the points with Hibs and maintain their lead at the top of the league - Shotton again on the score sheet making it 6 in 3 for the Sashmen!
