SCC extend their lead

After eight games over the cup weekend - 26th & 27th of October, the league resumed as normal. Four fixtures were on show. Special mention to CBD Wanderers whom caused the biggest upset, and arguably for quite some time, taking out Gaelic Lions. Maybe CBD should look into mixing it with the Cosmo league and joining full time?

SCC looking to take advantage of TGA Rangers having a week off, were up against their closest rivals last season, in the shape of the Gaelic Lions. Battling the elements and side-stepping lightning strikes at Dempsey, Dominic O’Shea opened the scoring for SCC and they went into the break one nil up. A back and forth second half, saw SCC score two more and inflict defeat on the Lions. Whom had won their previous three league matches. FT SCC 3 Lions 0, moving five points clear at the top.

Casuals and Nippon thrashed it out during the Friday night fixture. Nippon no doubt looking to carry on momentum from their big first round cup win two weeks prior. The game ending even Stevens, 2-2.

Hibs took on The Vikings whom hadn’t won in the league for quite some time. However, they must have gained some confidence with victory over Hollandse in the cup. No easy task taking on a hard working Hibs, let alone taking them on on a huge PSA pitch. Ales Melechovsky scoring a brace, helping Vikings earn a much-needed victory and taking his goal tally for the season to double figures. FT 2-1 Vikings.

Hotspurs still looking for their first win of the season, took on Aioli for the 3pm kick off at Turf City - whom have had back to back defeats in the league recently. A back and forth game meant there would be a share of the spoils. Unfortunately, both will have to wait a little longer for that win, but I’m sure it won’t be long, as both have more than enough quality. FT 2-2.

Four fixtures on display this weekend. Good luck to all players running out. Pick of the bunch being a top of the table clash at Dempsey, SCC vs TGA Rangers.
