With a 3-1 win against Hibernians, Hotspurs secured their first win of the season overtaking Nippon in the standings. It was a tight affair on Friday night but in the end Hotspurs stayed composed and took the win the have been searching for in recent weeks. Elsewhere on Friday night two of the top teams TGA and Casuals played an entertaining draw, in a game that also was the last game in charge of TGA Rangers for manager Olli. The league wish you all the best back in Europe.
On Saturday Swiss FC came from behind 2-0 to take the draw vs an Aioli PM draw that were clearly missing a few profiles touring Europe. Also on Turf City the German Allstars continued their good run of form and edged Olympique Gaulois 3-2 with some well taken goals and good fighting spirit. Finally Gaelic Lions and Latini cancelled each other with a 0-0 draw that neither team could use for much in the standings.
The coming weekend looks to be one of fireworks - with 4 of the top 5 teams squaring off on Friday, with Vikings visiting Casuals and the UWC and even more exciting a game of Champions and runner up at Turf City with TGA Rangers challenging SCC on their first Friday night outing of the season. On saturday bottom two Nippon and Hotspurs will square off, while German Allstars will need to overcome Hibs and the PSA to stay on track for a top four finish (Champions league). Latini and Swiss both need a win to challenge for the top half, while Gaelic and Gaulois both need to convert good football to match winning results. STAY TUNED !!!
