After a few weeks off and still some players traveling, Tactical Tally worked his magic again to assemble a strong squad for another big game in the title race. A special mention goes to Sharples for organising his travel plans around today’s fixture and landed just a few hours before kickoff taking the Red-eye flight from New York. It was also nice to welcome back Otter into the team after a couple years not being available to play. . 1TM were keen to keep the intensity high throughout the match and, despite the German’s best efforts, we came out winners with an 11-1 victory. We played some great football at times and scored some excellent goals. Duplo was the stand out man of the match with 1 goal and 5 assists. Credit goes to their team who never stopped working and their ‘keeper who made several impressive saves to keep the scoreline down. Thanks to the squad, the Germans and the officials for their contributions to today’s match. Also special mention to Ruby and Team Otter for coming down to support. 3 games to go and another big match against the Gaelics next week awaits. Saturday afternoon, weather hot as hell, humidity about 120%, opponent fighting in the title race, substitute players – one. Our chances are not high, but we wanted to annoy our opponent and who knows, maybe we could get something out of it. After a few moments those hopes were crushed. 0:1 after a few minutes. 0:2 after some other minutes by penalty. Not sure whether it really was a foul but anyway still not loving the VAR! Both goals highly avoidable after silly mistakes in the back. Not to forget, also the 0:3 which was just too easy and we were not able to stop them. Anyway, in the first 30 Minutes sometimes we played some good football. In one of our rare attacks, we were able to score after a counterattack and a beauty of a solo from our striker Anass. So, there is still hope! We can really annoy them! Nope… after half time whistle and a score of 1:3 we had no real chances to score, but they had a lot of them. Our keeper Nicolas saved our ass a few times, without him it could have been even worse. Let’s keep it simple. The rest is history. The table never lies and our absences didn’t make it better for us. Is a game like this hard to stomach? For sure! Were we down like Titanic? Yes! Does that hinder us to give it all for the last (3?) games? No! That’s football, the best side thing in the world!
