Hibs and Vikings faced off with 3rd place up for grabs in the league. Hibs opened the scoring when Nick played the ball over the high Vikings back-line and with Thorin galloping onto it in his trademark way, the 'keeper misjudged the bounce to leave Thorin with a tap in. It was Thorin's last game for the Hibs after 7 years with the club and he'll be missed. The lead lasted 30 seconds. Mele crossed and Hibs didn't deal with the deflected cross very well and the ball dropped to Vikings to score from 10 yards. Hibs then lost Nick to a head injury and Jack to knee injury in quick succession before the drinks break. Max and Xav came in and Hibs created a couple of openings though nice moves. Bolts laid one off for Dash and Max found space on the edge of the area, but both shots were well blocked. Mele was a handful as usual and Bill came out to good effect to see off the danger. Julio hit the post with a free-kick that somehow rebounded to safety. 1-1 HT Hibs didn't start the second-half well. A soft goal from a free-header that Bill was disappointed to see beat him, gave Vikings the lead. Mele then punished a high-line to score one-on-one as again Hibs switched off. 3-1 down and the second-half drinks was a final chance to reset and push again. Hibs found some rhythm and started moving the ball and Joey crossed brilliantly for Bolts to head back across goal and into the corner. Hibs sparked into life and Vikings sensed it was coming. Julio mazed deep into the box, picked out Bolts, who still had plenty to do, and he shifted it to his left and drilled his shot into the net to give the 'keeper no chance. 3-3. 5 minutes left and Vikings came again with Mele having a decent headed chance drift wide. 3-3 the final score and all the best to Vikings and their player who had a scary head injury late on. MoM for Bolts for dragging us back into the game with his goals. Joey was also excellent, Matt Norman had a very good Cosmo debut and Dash had a solid 90 mins on his return to Cosmo. Mele was Vikings' MoM.
Third and fourth faced off in the sweltering heat, with the points shared. Fair result after Vikings surrendered a 3-1 lead.
