Grinding in the puddles

There was quite a bit of standing water on P2 as the game got underway and Panda got stuck in a puddle somewhere on the island, so he didn't make it. There were two contrasting approaches to the conditions as OGS kept it on the floor while Hibs used Bolts as a target to avoid the puddles altogether and both teams had some success. Hibs were sloppy and went behind when Will's tackle turned into a through-ball that caught the defence out and it lead to OGS scoring. Hibs still looked threatening and a last-ditch tackle on Sergio saved a goal after Maayan put the striker through with beautiful pass. Julio rattled the cross-bar with a free-kick and Bolts was inches from a Ouss cross as Hibs searched for the equaliser and it eventually came through Will. Julio flicked on a cross to the back post and Will headed the ball in via a deflection. It made up for the humiliation of being 'megged with a beauty that was celebrated by the watching Talbot. It was quickly 2-1 when Ouss read the goalkeeper's intentions to roll the ball out to a defender and when Ouss robbed him of possession, he floated a gorgeous lob over the stranded keeper for his first for the club. OGS hit the post with only Bill to beat in a lucky escape for Hibs before the half. Will had to leave and Maayan was injured, so that was it for the subs as Xav and Carlos came into the game. OGS scored almost immediately after the half-time break. Hibs again sloppy and the resulting cross was poked in at the far post for the equaliser. OGS had their tails up and Bill had to divert shots away and Hibs defended corners well. Hibs struggled for rhythm but Bolts was still causing problems and Ouss bombed forward and was making things happen. The winning goal came from a free-kick as Julio decided his weaker left-foot was a better option than Jack's strong left-foot and he curled his shot over the wall and into the corner for the third goal. Hibs had more chances to get the two-goal cushion that would have made it more comfortable, Sergio lifted his shot wide with only the keeper to beat, Bolt's touch got away from him when through alone and Julio had his shot blocked. Not a pretty performance but a hard-earned 3 points and MoM for Bolts this week and notable mentions for Ouss and Julio.

Sad and rainy afternoon

OGS gathered in this rainy Saturday d’Ardennes by the recent loss of one of our vet player. With lots of players missing we brought 4 new players from our second team Start was very positive with good composure and nice move to put pressure on the hibs. We got quite quickly rewarded with a nice finish from Unni. While we continue to handle the hibs attacks we once again conceded cheap goals with a free header unluckily bouncing on our defender and a dangerous defensive pass intercepted by ouss. 2-1 at half time which sound quite harsh on us. We however came back strong to find an early equaliser Anatole converting a good cross from Ewan. Unfortunately we could not continue to create decent football throughout the second half and entered into a dangerous game of hibs attacks. Another silly free kick punished us one more time. Hibs were taking the lead and we did not have the energy nor the quality to get an equaliser. The bad results started in October continues for us and we hope to finally put an end to it next week against GSAS in the lower table battle. Good luck to our Hibs friend for the rest of the season and thanks to the referee trio who had a very good game MOM goes to Nick for his never ending fighting spirit and on our side to Anatole for a very good first game with us rewarded by a goal
