SFC were eager to play on a cool Friday Singapore evening (in comparison to Saturday afternoons). We got out on the front foot and were creating some great chances through the first half. Unfortunately, we just left our finishing boots at home on the eve it seemed. We went into half tied 0-0. In the second half the match livened up with a few goals. First to draw blood was Nippon when they pounced on a lose ball in near the center circle and played Kike through 1v1 with the SFC GK. If you've played in this league the last 8 years you know that Kike scores that 19 out of 20 times. 1-0 to Nippon. We continued to play our game and created several more chances. about 10 minutes later a lovely 1-2 pass on the wing saw Faz send the ball across the face of goal for half-time super sub Ataku to attack. Ataku put the ball into the back of the net to level 1-1. SFC were on top at that point pushing the match for the decisive goal, but not too long after Kike found himself with a tiny bit of space and time and that is all he needed to thread a perfectly paced pass to take three SFC players out of the game and put his teammate in on goal. The Nippon player finished calmly and they restored their lead to 2-1. At that point we threw everything we could at Nippon, but we just couldn't break through. Congrats to Nippon on the night who battled all over the pitch. They are the best team in Cosmo over the last 8 matches and deserve the points they have taken off all teams.
