Clinical finishing Hibs 1 GAS 4

The high flying German's came to the PSA and Hibs were looking to put their last result in the distant memory and get a result. It didn't turn out that way unfortunately and The German's ran out comfortable winners even after going behind. Hibs started well enough and Billy and Dan looked bright going forward as the away side let Hibs have possession, but there were no clear chances until the first goal. Dan's free-kick pitched in front of the away keeper and he will feel disappointed that he only managed to punch it into the roof of the net. The lead wasn't held for long as sloppy play in Hibs' own half put the German's on the front foot and the finish from the edge of the area was inch perfect to beat Nic. The away side then took the lead following a quickly taken free-kick - 10 yards from the offence - that saw the home side back peddling and once again the shot from the edge of the area clipped the inside of the far post and nestled in the net. Hibs had a strong claim for a penalty waved away as Andrew appeared to be felled and Jamie's free-kick was well saved and the German's sprung a poor off-side trap only to miss as the half-time score stayed at 1-2. The Germans put on a finishing masterclass the whole afternoon with typical efficiency in front of goal. Their third saw a break and with his weaker foot, the winger hit a beauty into the top corner from 18 yards on the angle. Hibs just could not get that kind of opening as Dan was well marshaled and it seemed all of our shots were comfortably smothered. As players with less minutes in their legs this season tired, the gaps got bigger and a stood up cross was ruthlessly volleyed in at the back post for 1-4. Nic made a great save as Hibs really were on the ropes and the away side smelt blood, but in the last 15 minutes the home side had more possession without really creating glaring chances. Thomas twice hit the target and Colin lifted his shot over, but the game was done.

No. 5

We had a strong starting eleven with three subs against the Irish starting from 5pm on Saturday at PSA club. It was our first match at the grass field in this season. In the first 10 minutes, the Germans were struggling with the grass field and couldn't possess the ball properly. The Hibs threatened us by counterattacks. Although we tried to find the way to make chances by using deeper area of the opponents side, the Hibs No.9 scored on a free kick and broke the deadlock. The good thing for the Germans was that they showed their character to bounce back soon and it didn't take so much time to score the tying goal. Micha levelled with a left-foot shot from outside the penalty area. Before half time, the Germans came from behind. "Super Micha" made it again by a right-foot shot into the bottom corner. In the second half, the Germans could control the game well and kept a solid defence. While the Hibs looked a little bit tired and gave much space, the Germans widened the lead. Quirin received the ball at the final third, carried it past and fired a shot into the top corner. Another goal by Maik secured the victory of the Germans and they switched the plan to close the game by using all subs. The referee blew the whistle and we won five games in a row. Thanks to the Hibs and referees for a great game. Looking forward to the next game against SCC, the provisional leading team in this league.
