Halloween also known as Allhalloween, All Hallow’s Eve or All Saint’sEve. A time to remember the dead. According to wiki it’s a tradition originated from the Celtic harvest festival however most think it’s an excuse for US families to dress up their kids and help them eat chocolate. Halloween activities includes trick-or-treating, costume parties, carving pumpkins, lighting fires and now CONCEDING 7 GOALS! To remember the dead the Casuals crew rocked up and stood still, almost for 90mins. If families brought their kids to the kid they would have saved themselves $60 a ticket for the Sentosa Horror Show because at Dover Casuals put on a very horrific, scary and sinful performance. The game didn’t start too badly with the ghostly Casuals going 1 up due to a fine run by Jake well finished by DHL. Then it ended. Trick-or-treat time – Vikings requested treat…..7 times and Casuals gave them a treat alright, 7 goal treat! Rumour has it chocolates and pumpkins were also offered as gifts at the end of the game. In Spain, Christian priests in little villages ring the church bells to remind folk to remember the dead. In Poland, believers pray out loud, Canadians give up meat for the day?! In Singapore, Casuals concede 7. All true. Interestingly, evangelical churches use ‘hell houses’ as a way to make uses of Halloweens popularity to promote evangelism, who knew! Taking this concept, Casuals UWC Dover home pitch is a comical ‘hell house’ and we now hope that lots of really cool players will join us! And then it ended 7 -1.
Late on Friday evening the Vikings visit Casuals at Dover for an important game to secure places at the top of the league. The pitch is wet after the rain and the supporters are getting German frankfurters and beer on the sideline – great setting for a Friday night game. Vikings starts in a 3-5-2 with changes on a few key positions. The Vikings team starts of a bit nervous, first with a lost ball right in front of the Vikings goal subsequently with a Casuals winger cutting through the left side of the Vikings defense. He finds a Casuals striker in the box, easy 1-0 goal for Casuals after 15 mins. The Vikings team has to dig deep to get back in the game and displays great attitude and energy for the rest of the first half. With two almost identical goals Jesper N makes it 1-0 and 2-0 on his trademark runs to the box. Vikings keeps the pressure on and manages to score two goals more before halftime from Leslie and Tommie. Casuals start the second half with an aim go get a few quick goals but a great ball from Simon puts Tommie wide open with the Casuals keeper and he makes it 5-1 within just minutes of starting the second half. The dynamic trio of Domino, Alex and Simon in the middle continue to work hard, move the ball around and produce chances for the rest of the game. Domino makes it 6-1 on a cheeky free-kick and Leslie finishes the game with his 7-1 goal, assisted by Jonas G. MOM goes to Jesper Nielsen with a well-deserved victory following his hard work throughout the game. Thank you to the supporters, Casuals and the referees for a great game to kick off the weekend.
