Well Beaten

Hibs’ unbeaten start to the season came to a dramatic end at the hands of a strong Vikings team at the PSA. Hibs had the better of the play up to the water break and had a goal disallowed as Vikings took time to settle and Hibs stoke the ball regularly. After that it was Vikings who kicked on capitalising on mistake after mistake to run out comfortable winners. Hibs got a consolation to make it 1-6 as TP went down the line and swung a lovely ball to Julio who brushed off a challenge and curled into the corner. 4 in 4! 1-7 it finished with some really terrible defending and now a welcome break to try and get players back from injury, weddings and the rugby to face... Vikings. MoM Mele for Vikings as he continues to rack the goals up.

Not happy despite win!

A cup game on the dreaded PSA pitch vs Hibs and we were without our Head coach who was enjoying a cold one in Dubai. We had a very good squad only missing a few players and in the build up we talked about playing our own game, using the width of the pitch to our advantage and putting pressure on Hibs. Good intensity during the warm up and we all agreed to work as a team. The first 20 min gave us a lot of possession but we didn’t really manage to create any big opportunities. Hibs defended well and we couldn’t get our usual passes going and there was a lack of communication across the team. It all seemed a bit flat and at the water break we agreed to press higher and be more vocal. We managed to improve our communication and a few good passes saw us go 3-0 up before the break. One change during half time as Maahin came off and was replaced by Drags. 10 minutes later Drags informed our right back that he could no longer help with the defensive work as he was tired. We went 6-0 up before Hibs managed to put one past John on a counter. The game ended 7-1 and we had a few frustrated players after the game due to the lack of effort and enthusiasm that was put in. This just goes to show what we expect from each other this season and even though we win 7-1 then we aren’t necessarily satisfied. All in all this was not our best game and we definitely need to pull it together ahead of our next Cosmo game against… you guessed it, Hibs. MOM: Meli 11 Hibs MOM: Their number 8 Julio was their best player and he scored on a great strike from the edge of the box.
