Back to Winning Ways

Hibs bounced back to win 3-1 at home over OGS with a really good performance. Hibs started really well and were on the front foot. Dan and Julio had excellent chances with just the keeper to beat, but Dan's flew over and Julio's was too close to the keeper. OG were looking to break quickly but Hibs defended well. Vish saved a Kike free-kick well and other than that, was barely troubled. 0-0 at the half. OG took the lead quite early on with a quickly taken shot from a square pass from 25 yards that curled beyond Vish. Hibs responded brilliantly and OG began to get stretched and An Rui played Dan in with a lofted ball and he did really well to steer the bouncing ball into the corner under pressure. The home side then took the lead when Dan got past the keeper and was mauled by the OG number one. It was a penalty and OG were a little fortunate to have eleven men on the pitch. Dan was took shaken up by the hefty challenge to bobble it in from the spot, so Julio did exactly that with a perfect impression. 2-1. OG woke up and Kike, who had been well marshalled, started to turn it on. Jamie was in top form and denied an almost certain goal and the rest of the Hibs players followed his lead. Vish, Thorin, Joey and Boycey all getting vital blocks and tackles in as Kike waved his wand to create. OG had an injury worry and Hibs hope their defender is okay. Lippy came on and got into dangerous areas and created the third goal with a square ball for Thorin to steer in with around 20 minute to play. Xav and Bolton came on to energise Hibs and Bolts should have had a goal with his first touch but he hit his shot too close to the keeper and Thorin had a couple of one-on-one chances at angles that he couldn't convert. A satisfying performance with everyone on form. MoM for OGS is the ever dangerous magician Kike.

Report

Disappointing performance from OG on a pitch were we never manage to play well. Game event went a bit against us with 2 early injuries on If an and Remi and then Nordine for a tong cut and broken fingers. A few stitches at the hospital and maybe a surgery to follow up. So we wish him a speedy recovery. All in all, we tried to play football and took the lead early in 2nd half but made too many mistake after that give away goals that penalized us. Hibs were more aggressive and eager to get a result. We pushed for the equalizer and so 2 opportunities saved on the line by a last defenders and got punished in a counter attack to seal the game.
