Latino dominated the game especially for the begging of the game and they consecutively scored twice. After that, Nippon created many chances but couldn’t score with good save by their GK. For second half, Nippon again made lots of chances. However, their defense was very decent and Nippon could score only one by Shoya. Latino, thanks for good game and all the best to the rest of the season
This was a bad tempered affair littered with stoppages that 1TM Latini edged thanks to birthday boy Didge’s first half brace. Nippon came into this game on the back of their first win of the season whilst 1TM Latini arrived having been thoroughly beaten by Hibs the week before but we were determined to bounce back strongly and started extremely well. We were first to everything in the opening stages and looked a real threat going forward. Our start was rewarded when a switch of play to Leo on the left resulted in a square ball to Didge who’s well struck shot from outside the box flew into the bottom corner to give us the perfect start. Things got even better just a few minutes later when Didge climbed highest to nod home an in-swinging Pet Shop corner to double our lead. We then had a great chance to make it 3 however Duplo fired over from Fede’s pull back. Nippon grew into the game however and finished the half strongly and after winning a series of free-kicks, hitting the bar from one of them with the last kick of the half. Nippon started the second half well and scored a fine goal on the break to half the deficit and from there the blue-print of the half was set. Nippon controlled possession with 1TM Latini looking to defend deep and hit on the counter. The game continued to be broken up with a series of fouls and yellow cards from both sides and a fair bit of gamesmanship from Nippon who seemed determined to force the referee to issue a red card. Despite Nippon dominating possession in the second half, we defended well and restricted them to very few chances a and in fact had the better of the chances on the break with Duplo and Leo both going close from very presentable opportunities. It was a hard fought but well deserved victory in the end, and the perfect response to last week’s poor showing against Hibs. To a man the work rate and attitude was spot on throughout and it gave us the perfect platform to build. Same again needed next week vs OG and each week thereafter. Thanks to Nippon for a very enjoyable and spirited game and good luck for the remainder of the season.
