Run of the Mill

Latini took on OG with both teams just taking 1 point from their previous 2 outings. Both were keen to get back to winning ways. Coach Price reshuffled the pack ever so slightly with Captain Eyebrows and Kasper coming back into the starting 11 to add some experience to the spine of the side. Strength in depth looking a lot more solid with The snake and Codhead being added to the subs bench for the 1st time this term. 1st Half: Not too much to report 1st half, wasn’t really one for the neutral that’s for sure. One great move from Jacob/LTG down the left failed to result in a breakthrough and Baker had a disallowed goal, whilst Remi hit the bar from a corner. HT. 0-0. The 2nd Half was a tale of two quarters. Latini looked a bit lackluster coming out of the traps and the French looked dangerous with their quick counter attacks. They made the break through 10 mins into the half when Remi cut a ball back from the left and Sam tucked it neatly into the bottom right corner. 1-0 OG. OG had a good chance to make it 2 shortly after but Dez did well to smother the ball and prevent Remi from squaring to his strike partner. Tally introduced some fresh legs going into the final qtr which quickly paid dividends - enter Pete ‘Medium’ Mills. The experienced Scotsman immediately leveled the scores after a nice lofted through ball from LTG found him through on goal. With a lot of work still to do Medium Millsy slotted home expertly. 1-1. Shortly after Remi agonizingly couldn’t reach a squared ball in order to restore the French lead in a Gazza 1990 type moment. Latini took full advantage of this and after some strong work down the right. Lego outmuscled the OG LB (those CrossFit sessions really paying off) served one up on a plate for Medium Millsy to tuck home for his 2nd. 2-1. Supersub no 2 then came on - enter Codhead who’d been sidelined for over a month with a runny nose. He was on the pitch all of 12 minutes, got fouled 20 times, moaned 20 times about being fouled, got booked for moaning about being fouled, whipped in a nice freekick after being fouled and moaning about it and being booked for moaning about it which was met powerfully by the head of LTG who thoroughly deserved a goal for his performance. 3-1. Codhead then executed a nice 25 yard arrowed drive past the French Keeper in the dying stages to make it 4-1. FT 4-1. Good to get back to winning ways ahead of a tough next fixture against the defending champs Rangers. 4-1 a flattering score line given the reflection of play, but stepping it up when required and also converting the vast majority of chances that came our way will be very encouraging. Thanks to OG for the tough game and for Remi for joining us at Harrys post game. Thanks to Zoolander, Flynny and Beef for coming down to support. MOM OG – Sam MOM Latini - Medium Millsy. Kit / Drinks - Kasper

End of game curse

Different game, different opponent, but same story. Overall a good game from us, that we dominated for most of the time, took a deserved lead after 50min, and then another black out during the last 15min conceding 4 goals. Game started well we both team moving the ball around at the back and trying to be cautious. Latina opened fire first with a disallowed goal from a corner after a push on the defender. Slowly, OG started putting pressure higher and creating opportunity with some good move from Ali and Andy on the sides, or from good passing from Nordine and Sam. We were getting closer but missed the final pass that would put latino keeper in danger. After 25min we scored a goal disallowed too sit seems the ball went out. The resulting corner hit the cross bar. After that Nordine got injured and had to switch him for Max S. Couple of more opportunity came but 0-0HT, and we just felt unlucky not to lead at this stage. Second half started just as we finished it, holding the ball and finding the space in the channels. The opener can after 55min when Remi lower crossed the ball back to Sam that finished it with the inside of the boots into the opposite bottom corner. We created more chances with Remi missing a 1vs1 and so good shoots but never extended our lead just like last week end and pay it later. 1-0 at water break and we felt like we were heading towards our first victory of the season. Then... massive black out. A missed ball in our last 30m, 1 pass, Latini entrance Mili find himself in 1vs1 against our keeper and made no mistake. Coming for nowhere, Latini was back into the game when i do not even recall our keeper doing any save so far. 5min Later we should have taken the lead again when Sam again managed to find Andy on the wing that lower crossed the ball at second post for Remi that somehow managed to bit a bit short and only tap the ball into the outside of the net. 1min later it was a long ball on Latini right wings for Lego, who managed to stay strong lower cross the ball for Mili again who was alone 2m away from the goal for a simple tap in. in 5min Latini went from looking like losing to leading 2-1. Then it was just a long fall from us until the final whistle. A free kick well headed by matt into the top corner, and cherry on the cake a 35m strike from BT that went straight in. 4-1 FT. Disappointing result for what was a super performance but for 70min again. The last 20min was a complete black out and we just are speechless when trying to explain what happen. Congrats to Latini who never gave up and to Tally for the coaching that paid off. MOM Latini: Mili. Well, nothing happen for 70min he comes in, wrap up 2 goals and win the game... No other choice MOM OG: Sam. Another good display from our midfielder wrapped up with a nice goal.
