The Double

Having played GAS only 7 days ago we knew what to expect but what we weren’t prepared for was a 1pm kick off on a surface of hot coals with a depleted squad. The first half was really dominated by the weather....suns out the game was walking pace...sun goes in everyone ran around. GAS dealt better with the conditions initially but never really threatened - new lad basti? Looked good in the middle but was lacking the support and the striker who last week was a threat was ineffective in the heat. Not a lot to write about in the first half and the second wasn’t a great spectacle either with neither team really showing what they are capable of doing, mostly down to the weather and size of the pitch. GAS went 1 up against the run of play but wasn’t Long until casuals scored with a double from Jacko which turned out to be the winner. One Attack from the Germans was snuffed out by sanders who took the ball and cleaned up the striker for good measure - great save and not at all contentious backed up by his video clip that he keeps behind the goal. Tough conditions for both teams and relief once the final whistle went. Solid shift from Dom and Ufit Poo Bob in the centre of the park, both did well covering a lot of ground. Special mention to frazer who was most excellent through out and specifically his half time chat which was probably his best so far. Mom casuals - frazer Mom gas - basti in the middle (not listed on teamsheet)

GSAS on track for third plate in a row

Saturday, 1pm, 30 degrees. Not the best weather conditions, but GSAS started very well. In the first half hour GSAS had more ball possession and a strong will which was the result of the first goal – Marius Teich did a great shoot from 25 meters on goal but just hit the bar, but the rebound was in. After that the forces waned and casuals came better into the game. During 15 minutes they scored two times caused by a little bit luck. In the second half GSAS dominated the game but wasn’t too dangerous in front of the goal. Up to one contentious scene in the box. Casuals keeper caught the ball and the opponent but the whistle stayed silent. After that there were no bigger chances on each sides and Casuals won the game 2-1.
