2-2

A nice cool Friday night 9 pm KO versus Nippon, not sure whether that’s advantageous or not but that’s what Latini faced this weekend. With the long public holiday weekend there were a few known absentees and Des…. Anyway Coach Price named a strong 11, Pep joining Baker at Centre half for the 1st time this campaign, Ruben made is 5 year awaited debut and LTG led the line in place of Duplo who was no doubt a few batons deep in suzzie wongs by the time KO arrived. After a slight delay in KO due to ‘Ref Wars’ between Rob and the official of the overrun game prior, it was Nippon that unsurprisingly came out the traps quickest. A couple of peaches of passes down either flank gave them a couple of early chances that they failed to convert. After 10 mins it seemed the Japanese had eventually stopped to breath and Latini got hold of the ball for the 1st time in the encounter. A couple of well delivered free kicks led to a few good half chances which Latini didn’t quite capitalise on. The breakthrough finally came about 30 mins in, Petshop met a JT corner and after a bit of pin ball on the goaline Harding converted nicely. 1-0 Latini. HT. The message was more of the same 2nd half and to try and keep matching the intensity of the tireless Japanese side. Didn’t go quite to plan. After a rather inconspicuous throw in and a poor clearance, a Nippon midfield rasped a lovely half volley into the net past a helpless Dez. 1-1. Latini responded well and the game could have swung either way, Nippon hit the bar from a nice long range effort then came the 3rd goal of the game. Another corner from the right which JT just about managed to deliver to the 18 yard box, was met by the head of Baker (knee height and behind him)… whose looping header was palmed/punched/flapped into the net by the keeper. ‘They all count.’ 2-1 Latini. Nippon had a great chance to equalise 10 mins from time when Khy was adjudged to have brought down the tricky winger inside the box. Harsh but ultimately irrelevant as the Nippon winger dragged his spot kick wide. Latini soaked up the increasing Nippon pressure well and if anything looked the more likely team to add a third, Woody missing a golden chance after a good counter attack. As fate would have it, Nippon levelled the scores with little time left on the clock. A deep cross from the right was met nicely by the head of one of the Nippon forwards, much to the delight of the Nippon faithful on the sideline. 2-2 FT. A little heartbreaking to concede a late goal but overall on the balance of play a draw was a fair result. Great performance from Latini lads with each and everyone putting in 110% against a top side. Thanks to Nippon for the game as ever (thank god we have 8 days to recover until the next cosmo fixture.) MOM Latini – LTG, MOM Nippon no 7 (centre half.)

Long way to Win

It is vary hard to obtain three points for us. We had several goal occasion at the first half. Lacking a bit of precision. The first goal was by opponent in 40 mins. The equalizer was by Nakada. Minato's long throw near the corner didn't meet any target and bounced toward Nakada without any marker. His volley kick find a net in 50mins. Yusuke obtained a penalty kick but couldn't make it. The opponent made a one from a corner kick. in 60mins. We expected 0 points. Players at the pitch didn't gave up. Ryo's header find a net. This equalized gave us hope. We worked hard after this goal but could obtained 1 point only. Its tough and long way to get the first three points in the league.
