1TM-Latini snatched 3 late points on Saturday afternoon against a resilient German-Swiss side to record our 1st back to back victories of the season. A big welcome back to CFD who returned to the heart of the defense following his lengthy Shernia issue. Pet Shop also returned to the starting 11 with Tomo Two-Fingers taking some time out to think about his recent actions at T43. I’m struggling to wrack my brain for any real incidents worthy of making a match report for the 1st half so this sentence is purely a buffer to pad it out a touch. HT 0-0. 1TM-Latini had a bit more purpose going forward 2nd half and took the game to GSAS, Terracotta army soldiers Duplo and E both looking dangerous coming off their respective flanks. Credit to the German-Swiss who were tight and organized and limited us to mostly half chances and set pieces. With the game looking destined for a stalemate we claimed the 3 points in the 85th minute via a set piece after E was brought down on the right. Despite being berated by the bench Tally insisted on a left footer for an inswinging freekick. Lozza San stepped up and it proved to be a master stroke as his angled cross somehow found its way into the net. It was a cruel blow to the GSAS keeper who had put in a very good performance prior to the incident. 1TM held on for the deserved win and also our 1st clean sheet of the season. FT 1-0. An ugly win but 3 points none the less and we move on to a tricky away fixture at SCC next week. Thanks to the Germans Swiss All Stars for the battle and good luck for the season. Thanks to Pizano senior and of course our new mascot Shdog for coming down to support. Shout out to JRE who wins this week’s Sh*tlid award beating off some stiff competition. MOM 1TM-Latini – Captain Eyebrows (his new boots have got him kicking the ball in the right direction it seems.) MOM GSAS – Daniel Grueber DOTD – Tally – for throwing TARD under the POB bus. In the last 2 minutes. KIT / PUMP – Woody Wildebeest. BALLS – Captain Eyebrows
Good start for GSAS being slightly ahead during the first couple of minutes. Things changed for the rest of the first half with no dangerous goal attacks on both sides but more pressure and ball possession from Latinis. Second half GSAS again started better with several tries to get through the opponent‘s defence - again no attempts to count. The match pretty much was only played between both penalty areas, but stronger attempts from latinis, which were saved one after the other by Joe, who did a great job. Unluckily in the 89th Minute a direct freekick went in - final score 0:1.
