Justin Schoeltens Hotspurs will be pleased to get their first point of the new campaign under their belts with Friday evening's 2-2 draw with Nippon. They will however probably also feel slightly hard done by not to take all the points on the night. Hotspurs started strongly- getting on to the front foot with some good link-up play up top- and it was new signing Daniel (combining with none other than best friend Jack) who netted the first of the night with a neat finish into the bottom corner. Nippon equalised shortly after when Hotspurs failed to deal with a long free kick into the box, but Daniel got onto the scoresheet again to make it 2-1 from a Roseburgh assist. Hotspurs proceeded to press the opposition back well- always looking dangerous on the break and from the Lawro set piece, but they were left to regret not putting the game to bed when a very harsh Nippon free-kick squeezed under the wall for the equaliser late on. Thanks to Nippon for a competitive game as always, and on to Vikings next week.
