Hibs lost the game with practically the last kick from their captain/coach finding the top corner with a sliced routine clearance. What a tit. After the panicked search for tibia protectors before the game for Jerome, Hibs looked like they had done enough to get a point and fought back from a goal down as OG’s man-of-the-match had a simple finish when Hibs failed to deal with a simple straight ball after Raper smacked his pass into the referee. OG had problems of their own at the back and looked very vulnerable to An-Rui and Andrew’s intelligent runs. Gilly placed a questioning pass into a dangerous area that An Rui latched onto and he then sat the keeper down and finished well. Andrew then did brilliantly to work the channel and pick out An Rui who unfortunately got underneath his effort from 10 yards. Heljar headed just wide from a deep corner as Hibs tested OG’s back line. The away side had some free-kicks that didn’t really test Joe and it stayed 1-1 at HT. Whisby came on and stretched the play but Hibs couldn’t develop anything clear. OG had most of the possession and had two great chances to take the lead. Shaz blocked one brilliantly on the line and the other was somehow skied. The whole back four were brilliant against some dangerous attacking players. Andrew got onto a good flick by Talbot and although he hit the target, the keeper wasn’t tested. Hibs were holding on in the closing stages but the crosses suited the home-side, until a tired left-footed swing by Nick under no pressure found the top corner off the old tibia protector and it was tough to take after the effort the boys had put in. Congrats to Champions SCC and we have two to go…
We played our boogie team in the sauna of the New camp size pitch of PSA. Hot weather but a strong squad to finally get a positive result against the Hibs. OG started well with a nice opening goal from Jean who chested concluded a good ball over the defense from Remi. Then the weather kicked back and after 15min we ran out of steam and Hibs managed to created a brace of chances which allowed them to equalized and they could even have taken the lead. We woke up for the last 10min a created some chances that we were unable to convert. Second half was mostly dominated by OG who were the most dangerous team. We created numerous chances that were either saved by their great goalkeeper, by the defender on the line. We also had the luxury of missing chances with open goals. Time passed by and the score line was unchanged until the dying minute, when Iss crossed the ball into the box that was expertly deflected by the defender into the top corner to give us the lead. 2-1 FT. Overall a slow game of football due to the insane weather, size of the pitch and length of the grass, but a very fair and enjoyable battle played in a good spirit. We managed to secure 3 deserved points. 2 more games to go to finish on a high note. MOM OG: Germain, just because he made the pass of the day... MOM Hibs: Without any doubt the goalkeeper who played a massive part of keeping the Hibs into the game for 90mins.
