Win is a win.

End of season match report style. Nick got 3. Joe got 1. Cris got 1. Sanders got bashed. Angry Will didn’t get booked. While even Angrier Andy commanded calmly on the sideline. We conceded 2 early goals from set pieces which wasn’t a surprise at all considering we knew Spurs biggest threat was from set pieces. The striker Nick was a handful although it did appear his teammates were not happy with him but for us he was the biggest threat. We reacted well and when we passed the ball around instead of humping it we looked good but there was a lack of composure today. Some of our goals were very good with Nicks upper 90 strike being the pick of the bunch. Nice to see young Cris score on his debut too. Gordo, who never stopped complaining that he wasn't starting or captain finally got on and immediately shanked a goal kick. For someone who was desperate to play you would have thought a shank wasn’t the best start alas he made a great save after but now he has a little poorly thumb. Whilst a slow start, the reaction was fantastic and our quality did come through in the end. MOM Casuals: Nick V MOM Spurs: Nick

Friday Night Strife

This was very much a game of four quarters. Hotspurs came out of the traps early eager to get back on track after their recent cup upset. With perfect conditions JD quickly put away two textbook goals from the six yard box after great play down the wing from Tiny. Then the rain and lightening came and things started to unravel for the team in blue. Hotspurs let in Casuals for a pretty simple (albeit offside) 1st, some confusion in Defence led to a 2nd, and the teams went in at half time all square. The 2nd half started much the same for hotspurs, under the cosh from the start, with casuals looking to push for that all important third. And it came with a great cross goal shot from their young striker. Hotspurs kept pushing to get back in the game but were caught twice more on the break making it an almighty ask of the 13 who turned up to get back in the game. Despite the lack of subs and the new faces in the squad, hotspurs pushed hard for the last 20, missing a number of chances and forcing some great saves from the sub keeper following an unfortunate clash earlier the half forcing their first choice off. (casuals: hope your keeper is ok) Hotspurs finished well, got a consolation and will rue all their missed opportunities.
