A French Dressing Down

Christmas may well be over but 1TM-Latini still felt the gift giving season was still in full swing when we took on the French in our 1st game of the new calendar year. A strong line up and Bakers new fine system in place still couldn’t prevent another January loss for us against a sharp OG side. OG took an early lead from a 1TM own goal after a mix up at the back. 1TM were back on level terms fairly sharpish through a Raver penalty after Woody was taken out in the box. We weren’t on level terms for long as OG capitalized on 1TM rustiness once again and took a 2-1 lead into the half time break. HT 2-1. Tally rung a few changes at the half and it looked to have been a master stroke as with 3 minutes the oncoming TARD looked lively and some flowing football between him and Rory A led to a well worked leveler…. 2-2. 40 mins to play and well in the game that’s where the football stopped. A few more gifts for the high pressing OG led to a deserved 4-2 lead. Then a fifth at the death to put the nail in the coffin. FT 5-2. Thanks to unlucky mascot Duplo for coming down to support. Thanks to the French for a game without any incident and congrats on a deserved victory. FT 5-2. MOM 1TM-Latini – Woody - despite his supposed weight gain. MOM OG – Hugo – a constant thorn in our defence. DOTD – Woodys freekick attempt which pretty much summed up 1TMs day. KIT – WOODY BALLS - DAZZA

Almost a perfect display from OG

After a complicated first game in 2018, OG secured 3 points against our Latini friend thanks to a perfect display from all the player on pitch. Game was quite even in the first half, Latini had the possession of the ball but OG reduced the space between the lines and manage to keep composure leaving no other choice for Latini to play long balls. We however managed to do some quick attacks and created the best chances of the first half, especially when Nordine thanks to a nice through ball from Alex, manage to dribble POB, but missed the target. First goal came in the 30th min when Remi played a long ball in the space for Hugo, and Pep deflected the ball and unintentionally beat POB who was out of his line. Latini equalized 5min later from a silly penalty. We raised our head and thanks to a high pressing from Antoine and Hugo, we recovered the in their last 16m. Hugo raced to face Latini's keeper and passed the ball across the goal for an easy tap in for Remi. 2-1 HT. Tally made numerous changes and subs during the first half, which paid off after 5min when their right winger managed to beat Tafarell in goal with a low shot in the opposite bottom corner. OG stepped up and scored 3 nice goal in the last 20min, first one from Hugo after a good work on the right wing from Antoine. The 4th goal is a beauty from Iss, curving a the ball in the top corner with no control. Last goal came from Guillaume who deserved it after an overall amazing display from our youngest player. A overall deserved victory. We managed to create numerous chances and converted 5. Latini lacked a bit of magic in the last 30 meters but they still have 2 other games against us to do better. Overall and great display from OG, in terms of spirit and gameplay. MOM OG: 3 players clearly stood out, Hugo, with 3 assists and 1 goal will not even get the MOM, Iss for a massive amount of work in midfield and a beautiful finish. But Guillaume was outstanding on the day and deserved it too. MOM Latini: Darren.
