Another poor display

Poor game from OG against a solid and organized German team. Despite starting the game well, the first penalty killed us and will remained controversial. A clash happen between german striker and our keeper, but game kept going for about 10s before we stopped due to their striker remaining on the ground. Ref consults his linesman and they both change their mind when during the event none decided it was a pen. From this point it was all going down from OG, lots of mis passes, we lost our duel against and much more aggressive German team, and most of us were too static on the field. The second penalty is un arguable though the quick free kick was played more than 10m from where the fault happen, and again we were too focused fairly arguing about it that we stoped playing and allow their striker to challenge for the ball inside the box, resulting in another penalty. 2-0 germans, deserved. Second half was slightly better but we lost Nordine on a late tackle (no fault whistled apparently). And even when a hand ball deflected one of our shoot inside the German box, we did not have the luxury to get a penalty. Ref lost the game an both teams started to talk too much and behavior the wrong way. Special credit to the German goalkeeper who showed what fairplay and respect is all about. Pure classy goalkeeper...... Overall a poor OG performance who lost the game against a team who was ready for the fight. Our heads dropped after the first pen and never really recovered.

First 3 points for GAS

After a rainy day weather conditions were perfect for the clash between GAS and OG. GAS played a very convincing style of football being solid from the back all the way to the attack, which resulted in a couple of good chances right from the very beginning on. Unfortunately they were all missed to be converted by our offensive guys Thomas, Quirin and one of our youngstars Lorenz, which revealed one of our weaknesses this season, the lack of concentration infront of the goal. Nevertheless we must have been on the right track considering the fact that the French started arguing and shouting at each other already after 10 minutes. After about 20 minutes when our old-but-gold striker Micha was going for the ball and directed it with a header to the side he was being knocked out by the goalkeeper who came too late hitting Michas head instead of the ball with his fist. Correct (and not controversial at all) decision by the referee to give the penalty which was converted by Quirin to the very well deserved GAS lead 1:0. We continued dominating the game with high ball possession especially because of our physically and technically incredibly strong Basti & Basti center mid combination. After around 35 minutes our quick striker Thomas came from the right side in the box. He went for the one-vs-one which he lost in the first place before he surprised the defender with his attitude of not giving up, stealing the ball again and could only be stopped unfairly by being pulled down by the jersey. Another clear penalty converted by Quirin and very empathetic of the referee for not showing the yellow card to the defender. It would have been his second... Halftime score 2:0 for GAS. In the second half we were not able to continue playing the nice football from first half even though our subs brought some new impulse to our game. The game was getting harder on both sides but remained predominantly fair, apart from some racist insults to our keeper (which is absolutely unacceptable and intolerable!!!). The game lost a bit of quality and none of the teams were able to create any further chances, on our side because of our rock solid center backs Flo and Pipo. Shortly before the final whistle Quirin was off to score his third goal with only the goalkeeper left infront of him but was fouled from behind outside of the box. Again very empathetic of the referee for not giving the red card to the French defender even though he was the last man and prevented a crystal clear chance. The subsequent free kick missed the goal by a bit which was the last situation of the game worth to be mentioned. Over and all 3 massive and well deserved points for GAS! Let's win the remaining 4 games before Christmas to shoot ourselves to a position in the table that justifies the quality of our team!
