Friday 13th….

Now I did think about writing this report about Kaz who actually spoke, now we don’t know if it was 2 or 3 times but he actually spoke however….for Sundays game he dropped out 20mins before KO and therefore isn’t worthy of a nice write up. Sad face. Angry face. Similar to Friday 13th Halloween can spook a lot of people and last year around the same time we got possessed by Arsenal style defending and got smashed by the Vikings. This year was different! Different in many ways. A different squad, yes. Different kit, tick, Different manager, check and finally a different warm up after years of soviet style routines sans massive amounts of ‘roids! This warm up, was technical, precise, challenging for some (Greg) and whilst some complained (Greg) it was a stroke of genius from the Gaffer because everyone had forgot about the spankings we’ve received this season! We could start the game less nervous but perhaps mentally challenged. Worth noting that the gaffer didn’t actually do the warm up. A new formation was set…again worth noting that the gaffers initial war cry back in August was exactly this “we are playing 442 ALL SEASON, there will be NO CHANGES”….6 games in and he’s panicking J stinks of Scottish bottle. I won’t mention the formation because im sure the top sides of the league are trying to figure out our new system and cunning tactics however it did involve 11 humans…kinda (Calamity Janes). So the game begin and we set up in a….ha yeah right! But we scored some goals which was nice, settled the game. Sam who we can confirm was playing striker put one in the top bin with his left leg. Swiss scored their first of the season and whilst I can’t remember ill assume Janesy got lobbed. I also can’t remember our goals so ill just highlight the goals that I was involved in….game finished 7-1. Nice to see some youngsters in the swiss team, the lad in the middle did very well and the GK had no chance with any of the goals but did get a hand to the pen! Was a shame to see a lot moaning from the Swiss and one player who justified kicking people by saying “you try being beat by 7 each week” terrible attitude and hopefully that won’t rub off on the younger players. MOM Casuals – Ka…no. Oli S MOM Swiss – either the GK or the midfielder…thought the midfielder stood out for the swiss….but horrible boots ; )

Work in progress

Work in progress The 2017 edition of Swiss FC remains work in progress. The team has recruited a number of new faces, in fact we had again two new names on the teamsheet, but a lot of work is still needed. Two no shows did of course not help, and two of the senior players going off early with injury compunded rhe misery. Casuals were off to a flying start and opened the scoring after 3 minutes with a rocket into the top corner from 20 meters. Not what the  Swiss had planned. Another goal on 20 minutes for a 2 goal Casuals lead at the half. A quick goal after the restart made it 3:0, and that was when Swiss had their best spell. First, it was Dominik who scored in his first game for the team, after great work frm Sean down the right, and it was also the first goal for Swiss FC this season. A couple of minutes later and off a corner kick, Regis rose and headed the ball well, but straight into the goal keeper. Any hope of a comeback were quickly ruined when Casuals scored a fourth. Generous defending then allowed Casuals to run away 7:1. Too often we have good spells, only to commit suicidal mistakes and throw the game away. Clearly, it would help to play back-to-back games with similar line-ups, but we dont seem to be able to do that. Good first contributions by Dominik Schneider and Ivan Gomez. Well done Casuals, good performance. Referees had an easy and good game - did not fall for the hilarious "foul throw" calls of a few Casuals players ;-)
