We played against Casuals FC, the game started at 17:10 pm on 29 of April, finally the score was 0-0 and it finished at 18:55 pm. Swaps: 1) Perola came on to the pitch in the second half (45 minute). 2) Oscar came on to the pitch in the second half (65 minute). 3) Mauricio came on to the pitch in the second half (80 minute). Overall was a tight game, GAS had many opportunities to score, but we missed all the opportunities. There are several things that GAS can improve on for the following matches. Improvements: 1) GAS needs to work on the distribution of the ball and playing as a team, switching from side to side may open up spaces and generate more opportunities. We generally get stuck at the same side, there are some considerations that need to be noted like the condition of the field (very muddy and difficult to play). 2) At the end of the game there were some internal discussions which could jeopardise the overall atmosphere of the team. We should work on our internal communication to create a better environment for all the players. Suggestions: On a side note, not relevant to the game per se, but an overall impression on trainings and games. I do feel that players who are actively engage and attend training regularly should be rewarded by having more playing time on the field, I do believe they will be on a better form to face a game.
As anyone in the ComsoLeague knows, if its rained anywhere in Singapore you can be sure it did at Dempsey. Arriving at the ground you would be forgiven thinking that the pitch was going to be a mess, mud and water everywhere on the trek to the field but alas it was in good condition - a bit wet on the edges but overall a good softer pitch to play on. Casuals started on the back foot with only fielding 10 players, actually we stayed on the back foot till the 40min of the first half. Credit to the 10 lads on the pitch who worked and worked to keep the scores level till helped arrived. We got through the first half achieving our objective, keeping a clean sheet. The German's did heap the pressure on, but a solid and composed back combined with a hard working midfield and front line kept them at bay. There were a few close shaves when the cross bar was hit on 2 occasions. Second half started with a full complement for the Causals and we set out to now create the chances to get the result. It would be fair to say we were all over them, Germans only outlet was long balls which were dealt with with ease all second half. We huffed and we puffed but just could not find the back of the net. The German stand in keeper must of made a dozen save's in the second half, some easier then others, but he was where he needed to be. And so it ended 0-0. Big shout out to Sherwin and Jansey who played their first game for Casuals and did the shirt proud, great effort through out the game. But man of the match nod go's to another not so regular the the Firsts in Scott Lambert, who ran and ran and ran and got stuck into every tackle he could. German MoM the keeper. A clean sheet and a point - which is massive given our recent run of form. Plenty of positives and plenty to build on.
