Closely fought match with Lions coming close to scoring early on in the game, hitting the post a couple of times. Nice link up play by SCC led to the first goal. Lions continued the second half with good spells of possession almost equalising. Andrew Hutcheon finishing off a good move by rounding the keeper giving SCC the two-goal cushion. Cheers to Lions for the competitive game right til the end. MOM goes to young lad Kike who gave our defense a tough time all game.
A surreal experience for me last week as while this game was unfolding here in South East Asia I was in the central pacific region on the island of Maui drinking Pina Colada's and getting caught in the rain, making love at midnight in the dunes on the cape. Or maybe I drank a bottle of Buckfast and had a wank in a field, can't remember. Lions had to dig deep again this week as there was six exceptionally good looking players missing, as well as Ballsy, but we are nothing but resourceful at the Gaelic Lions and we begged, borrowed and stole from all and sundry to get a team out and put on a decent show against the champs. Lions played well, especially first half and hit the bar a couple of times but as per previous games against our old mates we needed to make those chances count. Kike the Spanish WonderChild and Brian O'Reilly O'Reilly with special mentions, as well as a big thank you to Dane for stepping in these last few weeks and another notable shift from Seb and new lad James. Absolutely shite match report today but with the constant threat of a fine from Chalky the league's financial overlord sometimes quality is usurped by timing. MOM for the Lions goes to Brian O'Reilly O'Reilly and Hutchy for SCC. How much weight as he put on this season by the way, WTF?!
