A late penalty from Adam McCarthy secured a point for Hotspurs against reigning champions TGA Rangers, and kept the club well on course for a fourth place finish. Nick Kouvaritakis had given Hotspurs the lead from a Martin Lawrence corner, Tom Hine providing the assist. However, TGA the took a 2-1 lead before McCarthy's spot kick ensured that the spoils were shared. Josh Donovan, making his first start for over a year, almost secured all three points with a long range volley, but it wasn't to be.
Another late night cosmo game to catch up with all the postponements this year, this time Hotspurs who were still an on form team despite Saturdays reverse against you know who. Ranger started the game very well and new man Fraser was quickest to react in the box, tumbling under a late challenge with Danny stepping up to convert the deserved penalty. The lead didnt last too long when Spurs prolonged with some pinpoint corners and eventually got their reward from one of them heading down into the corner for 1-1. Some chances for both sides before half time but end like this. Again Rangers needed to come out strong in the second half and were playing some decent football with Spurs getting some success on the break. The pressure told after a distinctly average free kick from Paddy ping ponged around in the box for JC to slot home inside the 18 yard line. Just had to hold it together for the remaining 20 mins to try to keep some sort of pressure on the league leaders but unfortunately, we felt a soft penalty was given after a brushing in the box. Macca scored it to make the final score 2-2. Lads were pretty devastated at full time but we keep our heads up and go to Dempsey on the 22nd for another crack.
