Yuk!

Turfy City 9pm on a Friday….yay We turned up with a good squad albeit with a few key folk missing. We were confident going in to the game knowing that the quality was there and we a slight change to the shape we figured we had got it right on this big pitch. The game was pretty consistent throughout the 90mins. Totally dominated possession but when we got 20-25yards out we were hit by a wall of blue – Jakes a few chances but tonight wasn’t to be his night. I think Spurs scored 3/3 in the first half and that’s some strike rate, all of which could have been stopped if we were a touch sharper however especially I think the second goal with a harmless ball across goal which bounced off the wet surface in to the face of the small kid on the left and it rebounded in to the net – a cruel blow. Even at 3-0 we thought we were still in it especially after dominating the ball. Second half was the same, dominated possession but we only conceded 1 which was nice and again totally defendable. Spurs took their chances and whilst we had the possession in fairness we never really tested the GK which was very disappointing. MOM Spurs – Nick MOM Casuals – Dave Pellowe

Hit-man Hine inspires Hotspurs

Hotspurs moved to within just a single victory of the top four following a superb Friday Night Lights performance against Casuals. Casuals had edged Hotspurs earlier in the season when Tom Greene's men were in the midst of a miserable run of form that saw them lose their opening five matches. However, it was a different story this time around as Hotspurs made it 25 points from 33 available to briefly climb to fifth in a highly competitive table. Hotspurs were ruthless in the final third, with man of the match Tom Hine, Greene, Lionel Kong and substitute Guy Turton grabbing the goals. Next up, champions TGA Rangers.
