GSC presented lots of new faces against a strong Viking team. With 3 drop out in the morning due to injury, GSC management still managed to assemble 14 players. The first half saw Viking team trying to control the game, circulating the ball quite well with GSC playing well as a compact block. After 20min, Naty got injured on GSC side forcing us to change our defense. Both teams created few chances, but GSC lacked composure in the final passes. 0-0 at half time. The beginning of the second half saw Viking accentuating the pressure. A first goal could have been awarded for Viking but a hole in the net confused the ref team. Nevertheless, Viking kept composure and scored 2 goals in 5 minutes solidifying their advantages. GSC kept fighting and built some momentum. Both sides had opportunities but didn’t manage to score This game left a heavy toll on GSC with Anatole leaving the pitch few minutes after a contact with a Viking player and Francois & Eric fighting bravely until the end despite muscular problems. Congratulations to the Vikings for a well-deserved win! GSC displayed a good fighting spirit until the end Let’s move on!

Report

Wednesday night game at SAS against OGS.

Few regulars travelling and a few last minute cancellations made it interesting but we managed to field a solid 13 strong troop for the game. We to be a bit creative with the lineup with our lineup and with a few playing out of their usual positions we struggled a bit and OGS defended well so a even first half ended 0-0. For 2nd half we did some adjustments and abt 10 mins in we managed to crack the OGS line of defence and went one up from a great run down the right by Aidan and a great finish by Jacob... We kept the pressure and soon after Jacob was at the right time / place to tap in ours and his 2nd goal of the game... Great performances by the team as a whole and great debut by Max on the left back, Jacob keeping his goal scoring stats high, Rene in goal stepping in for David on the day and Aidan with a stellar 2nd half. 2-0 end result in a fair played and well managed game. Good luck to OGS for the rest of the season.
