Back in the game

After last week's burst, Gaulois SC were determined to come back with different intensions against International Lions. Similarly to our opponent, many players went missing but we managed to incorporate several new faces to the team. Gaulois SC starting the game strongly with a compact pressing forcing International Lions to throw long balls for most of the 1st act. Gaulois SC pressure forced IL to make mistakes and following a tackle in the box on Eric, Gaulois SC got awarded a penalty converted by Anatole. 1-0 Not long after, Gaulois SC managed to score a second one following a succession or corners and crosses that saw Victor pushing the ball into the net. 2-0 Half-Time Entering the second half, Gaulois SC proceeded to few changes and started to lose control of the ball. IL started to create some dangerous chances and converted 2 opportunities from free kicks in the last 10 minutes. Despite few rushes & opportunities from both sides until the very last minute, the game ended in a fair 2-2. We wish our International Lions friends all the best for the remaining part of the season. Next game against Hotspurs on Wednesday for a tough duel ahead.

Report

After last week's defeat, International Lions were determined to come back with a positive mindset against Gaulois SC. Despite still missing about ten players, we managed to field a "new" team with many changes. After a disastrous start and a tough first half, the Olympic Gaulois were leading 2-0. International Lions were eager to get back into the game, and the four substitutions at halftime made a big difference, especially the return of Mathias, who was a key player in our cup victory last year. His entry was decisive, as on his first touch, he provided a perfect assist to Nor Irfan, who scored with a beautiful header to make it 2-1. In the 80th minute, Mathias scored a stunning free-kick, reminiscent of Platini (or maybe Maradona) to equalize at 2-2. With just a few minutes left, International Lions kept pushing for the third goal. Despite all the effort, the match ended 2-2. We wish our Gaulois friends a great end to the season. See you next week for the league resumption against the leaders, SfC.
