We knew this week's league game against International Lions would be a tough one, especially after the recent defeat in the cup. We were determined to get our revenge and the lads were up for it from the first whistle. The game started at a frantic pace and the goals were flying in! It was a real rollercoaster: 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3, 4-3! We scored some absolute crackers, including a direct corner from Will and a wonder-strike from Mayaan – a left-footed half-volley from 35 meters out that nearly broke the net!
In the last cup game, International Lions faced off against Hibs in a thrilling cup match and took the win. So we knew that coming into this week league game, Hibs were going to be ready to get their revenge. Despite fielding a strong squad, we were without a dedicated goalkeeper, which added an extra challenge. The first 25 minutes were absolutely wild, with goals flying in from both sides. It’s hard to recall the exact sequence, but the scoreline quickly escalated to 3-2. Hibs delivered two incredible goals, including a stunning direct corner and what could easily be a Goal of the Year contender from Mayaan—a left-footed half-volley from 35 meters out! Hibs continued their relentless push, ultimately sealing a hard-fought 4-3 victory in what was a fiercely physical encounter. Unfortunate that the two fouls on the strikers in the box didn't end in anything more than a goal kick.... Congratulations to Hibs on the win, and best of luck for the rest of your season. A special shoutout to Bolts — wishing you a speedy recovery from your knee injury. The Int'l Lions are already gearing up to bounce back stronger in our next cup clash against Gaulois!
