Luckily managed to get a game in after torrential rain around Singapore.

A couple of counter attacking moves saw us trailing again 2-0 early in the first half. We kept the game under control and created various changes with Nick getting a goal in the back post and Soshi scoring a screamer into the top right corner. Trailing 3-2 at half time. Early in the second a brilliant move by Joe down the right taking on two players and slotting into the corner past the keeper to level 3-3. More chances followed and we managed to get the winner again by Joe after a nice move from the left. We missed a few more chances after that and our keeper Francesco made a couple of saves to end the game 4-3. Thank you GAS for a competitive and entertaining match.

Unexpectedly close but not enough for GSAS

After heavy rain delayed the kick off by an hour and lead to shortened half time length of 35 mins, a highly intense and entertaining match followed. Anticipating their first points of the season against league leaders SFC, GAS started off strong and quickly netted two goals within 10 mins of playing time. First Thomas finished off a nice run on the left with a deadly pass to Max who served it past the keeper for Peter to put it in the (now empty) goal. Shortly after Max in the right spot again, converting a corner in flying header fashion. Good chances now on both sides and although SFC managed to make it 2:1 in the meantime, our two goal lead was quickly reinstated by Thomas, burying a freekick from the edge of the box. As SFCs striker somehow managed to pull of a similar piece of art shortly after, half time score was 3:2 in GAS favour. Better start for SFC in the second half making it 3:3 after a solo run through the midfield followed by a fifa like curl into our far corner. The match could have now gone either way with a lot of back-and-forth action and great goalkeeping on both sides keeping the result level. The final act saw some chaotic play and a bit of ping pong in our Box and the ball eventually found its way into the back of the net marking the unfortuante 3:4 end result. Thanks to all involved for an entertaining afternoon. MoM Thomas for superb goal and assist DoD Stephan for some unfortunate misses in the back (even though the wet pitch wasn't easy to play)
