In a spirited performance, GSAS notched their first win of the season, defeating the Vikings 2-0. The match started with a frenetic pace, as the team needed around 20 minutes to find their rhythm amidst some initial chaos. However, as the first half progressed, GSAS found their footing, tightening up communication and playing cohesively as a unit. This shift in control allowed Ant to open the scoring, converting a well-delivered free-kick cross into the box to make it 1-0. The second half saw the intensity rise, with tempers flaring and plenty of heated discussions on the pitch. GSAS maintained their composure, relying on a solid defense that allowed few chances for the Vikings. The compact formation with three central players kept the team strong through the middle, providing stability throughout the game. A clever assist from Julian set up Ant for his second goal, sealing the 2-0 victory. These first three points have left us hungry for more, and if we continue to play like this, they certainly won’t be our last. Looking forward to an even stronger showing when GSAS returns to the field on November 16th against SFC! MoM Ant for obvious reasons and taking over the top scorer crown in only 2 matches DoD Max (again) for no-show as he had lost his shoes
Frustrating day at the office for Vikings. Couple of first half chances to go in front and the game has a different complexion. However, Ref gives a 50/50 free kick to Germans on edge of our box, some poor marking and we go in at break 1 down. Second half starts and some probing from Vikings but nothing quite dropping. Germans punish a mistake to go 2-0 up. I’m writing this late into the evening on Friday, and if we were still playing, i still don’t think we would score! One of those days. Well played by GSAS lads. Good luck for upcoming games.
