A much changed Vikings were back at the scene of the crime of last weeks tough defeat vs Lions. Against a very good Nippon team, we started very sloppily. Giving the ball away multiple times and lucky to not be behind within the first 15 minutes. After settling down, Vikings managed to score from a Joe flick on from a goal kick, AK with a nice finish around the keeper. Nippon quickly equalised playing some nice football to create pressure on our back line. However, with two minutes to go in the first half Vikings on the counter attack manage to force a penalty Which Joe put away nicely. Vikings up 2-1 at half time. A couple of changes at half time and the Vikings start very well, quickly going 3- 1in front. With Albert feeding AK for a well taken second goal. Then it was a matter of rear guard action and defensive solidity for the Vikings. Nippon creating some chances and managing to get one goal back with 3 mins to go. Vikings managed to hold out for the win, but anything other than easy against a very well organised Nippon team. Good luck to the Nippon boys for the rest of the season.
