One week after losing against Vikings, Gaulois SC was back on the pitch to face them again in the Cup stage. With many players missing in the midfield, Gaulois SC was expecting a tough afternoon against this unbeaten opponent. For the first 20mins, both teams were well in place with Vikings doubling Gaulois SC's player, Abdoullah, in the midfield and thus, not much opportunities were created on both sides. Vikings had two free kicks where Fauzi had to be vigilant. Things started to move after the water break and Gaulois SC had 2/3 opportunities to open the score but Vikings GK made some great save. Finally, in the last 5min of the 1st half, Gaulois SC scored on a nice assist from Abdoullah to Dani, who put a leftie in the goal. 2nd half saw Vikings take the possession of the ball, and Gaulois SC unable to keep the ball in the middle. Vikings did not have much opportunity and Gaulois SC had one or two counterattacks that they could have played better to be 2 up. Logically, Vikings scored on a nice cross and finish from their offense. Despite having the ball, Vikings did not create any other chances and game finished on a draw. Thank you Vikings for the game! Game played as always in a fair play and good atmosphere.
A very sloppy start from the vikings led us to deservedly being 1-0 down at half time. With some changes made at half time with our former captain Domino making a timely return, and our current skipper Tomas also coming on helped us to put together a much better showing in the second half. A lovely goal from us midway through the half with Ethan finishing well after some brilliant work by Doms and Marco. Could have nicked it at the end, but a draw probably the fair result. Also a note for Jan who came on at left back in the second half and put a very impressive performance in. Well played to the OGS lads, great battle as always.
