Hibs played well in the first half and created a couple of good chances but the Gaelic ‘keeper was in great form and denied Bolts and Pedro. Hibs had the better of the half but Gaelic went into halftime with the lead though with their first shot on target as a 25 yard free kick dropped over Bill. The second half was more even and some half-chances were created at both ends. Gaelic’s second goal mid-way though took the game further away from Hibs. A big long kick wasn’t dealt with by anyone and the Gaelic striker couldn’t believe his luck. Hibs had chances with Pedro causing problems and Bolts having one cleared off the line. Hibs pushed and pushed to get back in the game but Gaelic were resolute. Gaelic punished them with a third late on. It was great to see Enrique back in action after a lengthy absence through injury and he almost capped it with a goal. MoM was Josh for Hibs in midfield and the Gaelic ‘keeper.
Tough game on Saturday, especially with the heat! Hibs had the better of the first half exchanges with a couple of chances saved by Richie. It took us a little longer to adjust. Josh then decided to take a pop from 25 years with a free that looped in top corner! That helped settle us! The further the game went on, the more we grew in confidence! The second half opened up and both teams looked dangerous at times! Our second came from a basic route 1 ball over the top left Boyler 1v1 and he rarely misses those! As Hibs chased we countered well, and our 3rd was finished off nicely by Oscar with a great through ball from Xav! Cheers Hibs for the game and to the officials too!
